Urban Art At BLOOOM!
Friday, 29th October to Monday, 1st November 2010
The first decisions by the jury has been taken and the first exhibitors are confirmed. Urban Art has been, and will always be, an important issue that never loses its excitement. It is one of the strongest expression of public opinion, current affairs and as a mirror of the constantly transforming society worldwide.
BLOOOM proudly presents following great exhibitors in the segment of Urban Art:
ART CONEXXION / Saarbrücken is planning and organizing shows and exhibitions for renowned artists and newcomers in cooperation with selected galleries, museums, companies, cities etc. They also do art marketing and are a part of the holding company NEWKOM, which combines 7 different creative agencies, e.g. an advertising agency.
ARTISHOX Gallery will move to Belgium shortly before the premiere of BLOOOM. Their concept won’t change – just their address and possibly their name. Artishox Gallery was founded at the end of 2005 in Bladel in the Netherlands and moved in 2007 to a new space in Eersel. At first the idea was to present affordable art for a large puplic. Nevertheless, after running Artishox for a couple of years we learned a lot more art and the art world. Our growing experiences made us decide that weh ad to specialize Artishox by following our own interest and heart. This means: unique, innovative, and stunning high-quality art that hits us.
M’arte Galleria Italy was born out the desire to play with fulfilling a dream - to give life to an art gallery in the province of Imperia, Liguria, Italy. A gallery that keeps an attentive eye on what is happening in contemporary art, particularly that of artists outside the main circuits. A place that could, in time, become a meeting point and a studio for creativity. M’arte gallery is, like Marte Italian for Mars), the other" world, the red planet, the color of passion; like the Italian mare (sea) and arte (art) mixing to create new life forms. The works exhibited are paintings produced on variuos surfaces, from wood to plexiglass. We consider our presentation a "Double/Personal" Show. The major part of the works have been created specifically for BLOOOM, and therefore will be on view for the first time.
The work of the Italian artist MOROF is developing mainly through a pencil and pastel technique where the body and head are not proportional. The heads are too big. At BLOOOM he will present a ironic view of the history of Italian Art! Each work contains special metaphors about the New Renaissance, which reflect his opinion on the current Italian art scene. MOROF finds this kind of irony very necessary, and as part of this, the work will be presented in Museum setting to highlight the ironic aspect. His paintings are reflecting in some cases the original size, but inside of them there will be a little surprise on the MOROF style.
Rooftop Amsterdam is a creative agency from Amsterdam. They work with several artists mainly in the domain of urban art, lowbrow and illustration. Their aim is to combine creative commercial assignments ( as illustration / graphic design) with the promotion of independent art works in exhibitions. Therefore they are in collaborations with galleries. For Blooom Rooftop will show the work of two young artists: SIT and Stefan Glerum.
